The Drovers are coming…. to the LAKE!

Spark! perform at Glenridding at 4.40pm then take the Ullswater Steamer to Pooley Bridge.
Procession starts at 6pm from Pooley Bridge Pier
Magical, illuminated drummers Spark! journey from Glenridding to Pooley Bridge on an Ullswater Steamer. At dusk they will arrive at Pooley Bridge and are joined by a community procession of fire, masks and music. Spark! lead the procession along Pooley Bridge High Street to the field behind The Sun Inn, where Spark! will take to the stage. After which everyone can gather round the bonfire.

Spark! will give a short performance at the Glenridding steamer jetty at approx 4.40pm before boarding the steamer.
Torch procession starts at approx 6.00pm from Ullswater Steamers jetty in Pooley Bridge. Audience members please gather along the pavements. (Please keep the bridge clear.)
Join the herd!
Be part of the procession, carry a firetorch, wear a mask. Meet at Ullswater Steamers jetty at Pooley Bridge between 5.15pm – 5.30pm and collect a fire torch (over 16s only.) You will be given a safety briefing on arrival. Torches will be given on a first come first served basis. Register to get one here. We are asking for a donation of £2 per fire torch which will go towards financing the event and future Eden Arts events.
Fire torchbearers are encouraged to wear an animal mask or dress as a drover/shepherd (think tweed, flat-caps etc). Fire torches will be issued at the meeting point. You can still be accompanied by your children/non-torchbearers. If you are wearing a mask make sure your vision isn’t impaired – remember you’re walking in low light! Wear suitable footwear and wrap up warm.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU ARE CARRYING A NAKED FLAME, SO NYLON CLOTHING, LONG HAIR ETC ARE POTENTIAL HAZARDS. WOOLLEN CLOTHING IS RECOMMENDED.
FIRE TORCHES ARE CARRIED AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Rolling road closure through Pooley Bridge High street between 5.45 – 6.45pm on Wed 26th October.
IF TRAVELLING BY CAR ARRIVE EARLY…
ADDITIONAL CAR PARKING NOW AVAILABLE AT PARKFOOT CAMPSITE and will be signposted via A6 Eamont Bridge / B3520 Tirril road. Address: Howtown Road, Pooley Bridge, Penrith CA10 2NA.
Park on campsite field as near to lake as possible and walk via lake path to Pooley Bridge. PLEASE BRING A TORCH AS PATH IS NOT LIT.
Main car parks in Pooley Bridge (Dunmallard & Eusemere Pay & Display) and parking bays in village centre also open.
Please PLAN TO ARRIVE EARLY as you will not be able to get to the car parks after rolling road closure starts.
There are public toilets at the centre of the village (20p entry)
No fireworks or sparklers must be brought onto the site. Please keep behind the barriers to ensure you are at a safe distance from the fire.
PLEASE BRING A TORCH WITH YOU.
There is an accessible public toilet in Pooley Bridge village centre. The bonfire is in a field that is gravel track on entry then to grass. This will be uneven and if wet will be muddy.
