Electric Swing Circus

Electric Swing Circus will be taking to the stage for the finale of the Torch Light Procession

Electric Swing Circus are a live 6 -piece fusion of saucy 20’s swing and stomping piece fusion. With an explosive sound that reverberates back through time, the ESC hotfoot their way through everything from breakbeat and house to reggae and dubstep, all with their own unique style of swing.

They rocked the Winter Droving After Party in 2015 and we just had to have them back…

Cumbrian Food and Craft Market

Kicking off the day from 10am – 8pm with over 80 stalls ranging from vintage buys, traditional crafts, local artists, traditional cumbrian foods and gifts and more.

The Drovers Cup

The annual Drovers cup takes place from 1.30pm.

Part 1: 1.30pm King Street – Hay Bale Racing, Pint Pass, Egg Throwing

Part 2: 2.15pm Great Dockray – Tug-O-War, Sausage Eating, Announcing the Winner

The Mart Stage – Devonshire Street

From 12noon, the Mart Stage begins with the Vets 4 Pets Fancy Dress for Dogs competition followed by a mixture of Street Performance, carnival acts and drumming bands throughout the rest of the day.

Middlegate Stage

From 12 noon

Not to be missed! Local DJs will be mixing Northern Soul, Swing, Jazz and funk throughout the day and into the evening.

The Bandstand – Cornmarket

From 12.45pm.

Showcasing the very best rock, folk and blues from across the north of the England.

The Melodrome Stage -King Street

From 1pm.

The Melodrome brings you the finest up and coming bands from the festival circuit.

The Stage Bus – Great Dockray

From 4pm

Bigger names and local favourites will be warming up before the torch parade and finale.

Roaming Performers

Look out for roaming performers and their unique contraptions as you venture through the town.

The Flying Colours will be teaching you poi spinning in Great Dockray throughout the afternoon.

Torch Parade

Starting from St Catherines School Playing School at 6.30pm, the procession of drumming and street bands, giant animal lanterns and around 200 drovers carrying fire torches will lead the way to Great Dockray and Electric Swing Circus.

6.30pm: St Catherines School Playing Field

7.00pm: Market Square

7.15pm: Great Dockray

A host of performers and musicians will be stationed along the route, at Sandgate, Middlegate, Devonshire Street and King Street.
